Fishing Description:

This dune lake in Oregon’s most popular state park is well-stocked with legal-sized rainbow trout from mid-March through mid-June. In summer, most fishing is for resident yellow perch, bluegills and brown bullhead. Trout 14 to 16 inches long are stocked in September. Excess hatchery steelhead released in late fall and winter are often available through May.

Fishing Cover / Structure:
Trout are easily caught from platforms and banks soon after they’re stocked. Later, there’s more action in less heavily-fished areas, such as the shore opposite the access road.
Fishing Tips, Tactics, How-To info:

All lake-fishing techniques can be effective. Use larger spoons and spinners and heavier (10 lb.) line when targeting steelhead, though they may grab even tiny offerings.

Directions to Lake:

From Hwy 101 north of Seaside, follow signs to Fort Stevens State Park. Turn onto Ridge Road, entering the park at the southernmost gate, which is signed for Coffenbury Lake and the campground.
