Lake Information for Lake Cumberland

Lake Cumberland is an artificial lake in Clinton, Laurel, McCreary, Pulaski, Russell, and Wayne counties in Kentucky. Its shoreline measures 1,255 miles and the lake is spread over 65,530 acres at the top of the power pool. The reservoir ranks 9th in the U.S. in size, with a capacity of 6.1 million acre-feet of water, enough to cover the entire Commonwealth of Kentucky with 3 inches of water. There are good numbers of largemouth bass in the 15-18 inch range and a few fish exceeding 20 inches. The striped bass forecast is good with several year-classes of fish available; there should be good catches of 8-15 pound fish, with fish larger than 15 pounds caught occasionally.
