Lake Information for Fish Lake
Fish Lake has 440 surface acres (a natural lake augmented by a dam). The lake’s biggest fish are often found in the old lake channel. The bank between the two campgrounds is a good place for youngsters to fish. Fishing seems to slow noticeably following full moons. The lake freezes solid many years and can be fished through the ice.
Two national forest campgrounds with pit toilets, drinking water, picnic tables, fire grates and boat ramp; lakeside trail on north shore; RV hook-ups (electrical only), rustic cabins, boat rentals (motor, paddle, canoe, pontoon), showers, laundry, café and convenience store with fishing supplies at Fish Lake Resort ( closed in winter).
Fees: Yes, for overnight and day use.
Additional Activities: Hiking and mountain bike trails (the gravel High Lakes Trail leads 9 miles through lava fields and meadows to Lake of the Woods); swimming; wildlife viewing; game room at the resort. Nearby state park: Tou Velle State Recreation Area.

Legal-sized rainbow trout are stocked throughout summer. Excess steelhead are occasionally stocked.
Naturally reproducing brook trout are also available. Trout can reach 8 lbs. and exceed 20 inches.
All lake fishing techniques can be effective. Worms and PowerBait are especially popular. Boat anglers have good success trolling a worm with a small silver and red spinner.
Hwy 140, northeast of Medford and northwest of Klamath Falls, leads directly to Fish Lake.
