The sprawling waters of Starvation Reservoir offer great fishing and boating. Find a secluded campsite at one of four primitive campgrounds and one developed campground. Bring your off-highway vehicle and ride on nearby trails.

Facilities and Parks: 

The 3500 acre Starvation State Park and Reservoir is open year-round, and is popular for fishing and boating. It lies at an elevation of 5712 feet. Established in 1972, the park features a 54 unit RV campground along with primitive camping, a sand beach, restrooms, showers, a group-use pavilion, sewage disposal, and fish cleaning stations.
There are many things to do and see in the area. Nearby features include Red Fleet State Park, Steinaker State Park, and Dinosaur National Monument.

Fishing Description: 

The annual walleye fishing tournament has become a popular fishing event with trophy 10-plus pound fish being caught each year. The scenic beauty of 3,500 acres of park land, many coves, remote beaches and unusually blue water makes this a favorite of boating enthusiasts statewide."

Utah Chubs are one of the few species of fish present in Utah that are actually native to the state, it means Endemic Species. They evolved alongside the Cutthroat Trout and are an important food fish where they still coexist or that may no longer exist.

Directions to Lake: 

Starvation Reservoir is crossed by US 40 about 3
miles west of Duchesne. Access to the State Park is from
US 40 at the west end of Duchesne (one block west of the
Conoco station). Other parts of the shore are accessible
from various unpaved roads or the view area at milepost
83 (just east of the US 40 bridge).
