Description: 

Lake Jocassee is a 7,565 acre man-made lake in the South Carolina mountains. Formed by the Whitewater, Thompson, and Toxaway Rivers, it is known for its mostly undeveloped shoreline, views of the Jocassee Gorges Wildlife Management Area and surrounding mountains, and waterfalls that cascade directly into the lake.

Devils Fork State Park is located on Lake Jocassee.

Facilities and Parks: 

The park has four boat ramps which provide private boat access to Lake Jocassee.

Fishing Description: 

Lake Jocassee is a deep mountain lake with clear, cold water. Fishing includes brown and rainbow trout, smallmouth bass, sunfish, bluegill, black crappie, white bass, and largemouth bass.

Directions to Lake: 

From I-85 at the GA line: Take exit 1 to Hwy 11 for approx. 40 miles, turn left on Jocassee Lake Rd, and travel 3 mi.

From I-85 at the NC line: Travel south to Hwy 11 exit at Gaffney and proceed on Hwy 11 for approx. 90 miles, turn right on Jocassee Lk. Rd and travel 3 miles.

From I-26: Take exit 5 onto Hwy 11 to Campobello. Travel for approximately 60 mi. Turn rt. on Lake Jocassee Rd., and travel 3 mi.
